Día 1: San Miguel del Monte

Welcome to Argentina, the land of horses, the pampas, gauchos with their iconic ponchos, and mate. There’s no better way to immerse yourself in the culture, traditions, and understand the true spirit of Argentina than galloping through the pampa and experiencing the famous “estancias”. First, the pampa, the iconic endless plain… “quechua” in the indigenous language, meaning “tree-less plain”. The Pampa stretches across central Argentina and reaches the Atlantic coast.
You will be based in a typical Estancia, a real working ranch in the heart of the Argentine Pampa, located near Buenos Aires where you can spend a few days before heading towards Patagonia perhaps… The Estancia is dedicated to cattle and Argentine horse breeding, with truly exceptional animals. You will also spend time outdoors with our gauchos, horsemen who are very proud of their lifestyle and their breeding skills. They embody the true spirit and symbol of the endless pampas and Argentine culture, with their ponchos and mate always in hand… Enjoy the freedom of galloping across the plains while helping the gauchos with their daily work. This is one of the few authentic experiences left, accompanied by personalized service that is part of the philosophy and culture of the place: excellent local cuisine and comfortable accommodations. Traditional Argentine barbecues, wonderful horseback rides, or simply relaxing in nature await you, not to mention looking up at the sky to admire the starry night of the southern hemisphere. Of course, the program wouldn’t be complete without taking some time to discover Buenos Aires, the birthplace of tango, the Paris of South America.

Pick-up from Buenos Aires airport (EZE) (or from a city hotel with a supplement) and transfer to the Estancia, approximately two hours away. Dinner and overnight in a typical estancia.

During your stay at the estancia, horseback riding and cycling are included every day. The estancia offers various horseback riding trails, crossing the pampa on small paths near small lagoons with many birds. Trails range from 45 minutes to 2 hours, suitable for riders of all levels. Experienced riders can also try barrel racing. Additionally, the following activities are available for an extra fee: massages, polo lessons, cooking lessons, bird watching, an excursion to San Miguel del Monte, and musical performances.

EQUIPMENT: ARGENTINE SADDLES
HORSES: ARGENTINO, CREOLE. The horses are all bred and perfectly trained at the estancia, also used for cattle work. You’ll be lucky enough to experience the elastic and comfortable gaits of our horses.
RIDE TIME: 4-6 HOURS A DAY IN THE SADDLE. The ability to be comfortable at all three gaits is required. There will be plenty of opportunities for long gallops in the endless pampas.
WHAT TO BRING: Riding gear for work, preferably waterproof, helmet, repellent, sunscreen.
MINIMUM AGE: 12 YEARS
TYPE: Equestrian stay with overnight in local estancia

ACCOMMODATION:
4 overnight stays at Estancia La Bandada. Built in traditional colonial style, it was renovated in 2017. It offers 5 spacious rooms (1 standard, 2 suites, and 2 apartments) with private facilities, separated by wide balconies. All rooms are named after birds frequently seen at the estancia. The main building is surrounded by a large park (1 million square feet!), with an unheated pool that guests can use. Please note that Wi-Fi access is only available in certain areas, and the mobile phone signal is weak.
Meals of typical Argentine cuisine, mainly based on meat. A vegetarian menu can be arranged upon request.

Departure Dates on Request with a minimum of 2 participants, departing from Italy from JANUARY to JUNE.
