Día 1: Guanajuato
Join us for a horseback trekking adventure through the heart of colonial Mexico. Our journey begins in the historic city of Guanajuato, located nearly 2000 meters above sea level. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988, it is undoubtedly the perfect starting point to immerse yourself in colonial charm. The historic center still retains a captivating colonial atmosphere, with its vivid multicolored buildings, churches, and plazas.
During the colonial era, Guanajuato became one of the most influential cities due to its silver mines. It also holds great historical significance in the context of the Mexican War of Independence, as the first battle between insurgents and the Spanish crown took place here. Each year, the city hosts one of Mexico’s most renowned cultural events, the International Cervantino Festival, bringing together artists and musicians from all over the world.
We’ll also visit other fascinating places such as:
Dolores Hidalgo, with its vineyards, wine museum, and museum of independence
Atotonilco, a pilgrimage destination famous for its 18th-century baroque fortified sanctuary
San Miguel de Allende, with its colorfully charming streets
This unique horseback trekking in Mexico offers the perfect mix of culture, tradition, exquisite cuisine, and breathtaking nature.
