Day 1: Lake Skadar

ITALY / PODGORICA / VIRPAZAR (-/-/-)
Between the shimmering waters of Lake Skadar and the unspoiled wilderness of Montenegro lies one of the Balkans’ most fascinating and authentic destinations. Here stands Žabljak Crnojevića, an ancient island fortress that has dominated the landscape for centuries and still preserves the charm of a land rich in history, traditions, and breathtaking natural scenery.
The stables are located near this 8th-century fortress, in the heart of Lake Skadar National Park, a natural paradise that attracts travelers from all over the world. On horseback, riders can explore more than 100 kilometers of trails winding through rolling hills, forests, lakeshores, and ancient paths once used by local communities for centuries.
Each day reveals a different landscape: from visits to the picturesque Kom Monastery to the traditional fishing villages of Dodoši and Biševina, where life still follows the rhythm of nature. Along the way, there are plenty of opportunities to relax, swim in the crystal-clear waters of the lake, or enjoy authentic Montenegrin cuisine at local restaurants overlooking spectacular scenery.
Without a doubt, the most unforgettable experience is encountering the wild horses that roam these lands. More than one hundred horses live freely across the meadows and hills, offering riders a rare and extraordinary spectacle. An authentic adventure that perfectly combines nature, freedom, and exploration in one of Montenegro's most surprising and untouched regions.

Flight to Podgorica or ferry to Bar from Bari or Ancona. Self-drive transfer to the stables near Virpazar, approximately 40 minutes away. Meeting at 11:00 a.m., where our adventure begins on the shores of Lake Skadar, the largest lake in the Balkans. After meeting the guides and being introduced to the horses, we set off on our first ride through the unspoiled landscapes surrounding Žabljak Crnojevića. Riding through forests, rolling hills, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the lake, we reach one of the area's charming villages for a relaxing break and lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we continue exploring scenic trails before returning to the ranch. A perfect first taste of authentic Montenegro. Overnight at Hotel Pelikan (or similar).

Day 2: Lake Skadar

VIRPAZAR (B/-/-)
Back in the saddle for one of our guests' favorite rides. Following different trails from the previous day, we reach the beautiful area of Biševina, renowned for its population of wild horses living freely among meadows and hills. Here we enjoy time to relax, photograph the magnificent scenery, and immerse ourselves in nature before lunch. In the afternoon, we continue along new panoramic routes offering ever-changing views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Overnight at Hotel Pelikan (or similar).

Day 3: Lake Skadar

VIRPAZAR (B/-/-)
Today's ride is dedicated to discovering the region's cultural heritage. We follow ancient trails leading to Kom Monastery and the picturesque village of Dodoši, places where time seems to have stood still. During our stops, there is time to relax by the lakeshore, enjoy a refreshing swim, and savor traditional Montenegrin cuisine in a local tavern. Every trail tells a different story, blending nature, spirituality, and centuries-old traditions. Overnight at Hotel Pelikan (or similar).
